Stable Door Pottery is the creative passion of ceramicist Orla O’Rourke. Making all her pottery exclusively in her Shanagarry Studio in County Cork, her work is unique, functional (dishwasher, microwave & oven safe) and beautiful. Inspired by her love of nature, Orla’s work is entirely handmade from rolling the clay, designing and firing it, by hand. The final stages of decoration and glazing are also done by hand in the traditional manner. Stable Door Pottery meets the highest standard in quality and durability.

Orla includes the hessian sack cloth fabric into her hand built ceramics. Each piece has the hessian fabric rolled into the clay, leaving behind its distinct design; then the designed clay is formed by Orla to create a sack like container. These “sacks” are the functional contemporary and stylish home-ware collection of tea bag and kitchen utensil holders.
