Stable Door Pottery, Shanagarry Saturday 14th & Saturday 28th February | 11:30 am – 3:30 pm

Celebrate love and creativity this February with a comprehensive, two-day ceramics course at Stable Door Pottery. Whether you’re looking for a unique Valentine's experience with a partner or friend, or simply want to treat yourself to a new skill, this course offers a deep dive into the world of pottery.

Spread over two fortnightly sessions, you will have the time and space to see your creations through from raw clay to finished, glazed masterpieces.

The Workshop Schedule

Day One: The Making (Saturday 14th February) Fall in love with the tactile nature of clay. During this intensive four-hour session, you will explore:

• Wheel Throwing: Experience the magic of the potter's wheel, learning the fundamentals of centring and pulling walls to create your own vessels.

• Handbuilding: Master traditional techniques like coiling, slabbing, or pinching to create more sculptural or functional forms.

Day Two: The Finishing (Saturday 28th February) After your pieces have been dried and bisque-fired, return to the studio to bring them to life with colour. You will learn various painting and glazing techniques to decorate your unique items, ensuring they are truly one-of-a-kind.

Making art is hungry work! We want you to feel right at home in our Shanagarry studio, so we’ve included a wholesome lunch in your booking.

• Lunch Included: Enjoy a delicious soup and sambo combo, accompanied by plenty of tea and coffee to keep the creative energy flowing.

• Investment: €160 per person (covers both days, all materials, firing, and lunch).

• Time: 11:30 am – 3:30 pm both Saturdays.
